Gastronomy is a very important part of the culture of Mallorca. Both its products and its prepared meals are part of the Mediterranean diet, and the typical products are based on the authenticity, quality and tradition of the land and its roots.
Surrounded by almond and olive trees, the village of Selva produces oil, ensaimada, almonds and figs. In addition, you will find other specialities of the island such as sobrasada, cheese or wine. Meals are prepared using fresh products: meats, vegetables, fish, fruits, rice, olive oil and other elements are wisely combined in recipes of long tradition.
The region is also known for the production of wines. Just 10 kilometres away we find the towns of Santa Maria and Binissalem, famous for their vineyards. Equally close, in the town of Escorca, are the Mortitx wineries, famous on the island for being the only ones located in the middle of the mountains.
Whilst we do not have a restaurant at Can Cota, we can organize the visit of private chefs for special occasions and small groups. Contact us and we will provide you more information. We can also help with reservations at local restaurants.
